Updated: Feb 11

In a recent podcast hosted by Chuck Hammond of the 401k Study Group, Lyle Himebaugh of Granite Group Advisors outlines a road map for advisors to stay ahead of the curve Closed MEPs or pooled associations have been around for decades. Now, with the recent passing of the SECURE Act, pooled employer plans or PEPs are coming into play in January 2021. Advisors need to be informed and stay in front of their clients as pooled plans offer small companies big plan benefits including economies of scale and reduced liability burdens with dedicated plan fiduciaries. However, not all plans are the same. Advisors can take the first step by connecting with Granite Group Advisors to ensure they are educated in offering their clients the right plan — making the transition to a pooled plan simple and seamless for the advisor, the employer and employee.
